  • Seminar  on Thalassaemia” on 8th May 1997, International Thalassaemia Day, jointly organized by Ayub Medical College, Pakistan Thalassaemia Welfare Society & AMA®.

  • Lecture on Mal-Nutrition Diseases, by Dr. Mehmood Alam, Consultant Paediatrician, at P.O.F. Havelian, 28th June 1998.

  •   Seminar on AIDS” at Frontier Medical College organized jointly by AMA, Free Legal & Medical Aid Trust & UNAIDS, on 5th October 1998.

  • Seminar on HIV/AIDS & Hepatitis”on 9th Sept. 1999 at Ayub Medical College, with collaboration with FHP & UNAIDS

  • Three Days “Workshop of Training of Tutors” from Thandiani and Balakot, from  11th–13th September 1999 at Family Health Project office.

  • Workshop on HIV/AIDS” for Students of 14 Colleges of Abbottabad at “World AIDS Day”, jointly organized by AMA, UNAIDS & Family Health Project, at Abbottabad.

  • Lecture on “Hazards of Smoking” on 28th November 1999 at a local School of Abbottabad.

  • Workshops on HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis” for Students of local school of Thandiani and barbers of Balakot, District Mansehra, December 1999

  • National Strategic Workshop on HIV/AIDS at Bhurban, 16th–19th May 2000. Dr. Noaman Siddiqui, Secretary General AMA® represented the Association at this Workshop.

  • NGOs Consortium Workshop”, 3rd & 4th July 2000 at Peshawar, AMA® was one of the participants from the NGOs working against HIV/AIDS in NWFP. Secretary General AMA® was elected as Divisional Coordinator for Hazara.

  • WHO/NIH/Ministry of Health Workshop on “Blood Donor Motivation”, 25th – 26th August 2000, Divisional Health Development Center, Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad

  • NWFP AIDS Consortium Workshop”, 9th -10th November 2000. Dr. Noaman Siddiqui, Secretary General AMA delivered a lecture on AIDS for participants from all over NWFP.

  • Workshop on AIDS” at World AIDS Day 2000, on 26th Nov. 2000, for the teachers of Educational Institutions of Abbottabad, with collaboration of UNAIDS.

  • Workshop to Pre- Test Guidelines of HIV Antibody Testing”, Islamabad, 3rd - 4th December 2000, UNAIDS and National AIDS Control Programme Secretary General AMA attended this Workshop.

  • World T.B Day” 24th March 2001, AMA was one of the organizers of this event, held in Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad.

  • Workshop on Waste Management / Biomedical Waste”, organized by IUCN, District Council, Abbottabad, AMA was one of the participants May 2001

  • Lecture on HIV/AIDS” by the Secretary General AMA at a local Homeopathic Medical College, 3rd June 2001

  • Lecture on “Common eye diseases” at Training Workshop for Village Health Worker, Plan International, Mansehra by Dr. Abdul Aziz Awan, Chairman AMA, 14th June 2001.

  • Lecture on HIV/AIDS for Students of Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad 5th  July 2001 by Dr. Noaman Siddiqui, Secretary General AMA Workshop Lecture by Secretary General AMA Workshop on HIV/AIDS for Pathologists and Lab./ Blood Bank Technicians Ayub Teaching Hospital   July 2001

  • Presentation on HIV/AIDS” at the 6th International Congress on AIDS on Asia and the Pacific by the Secretary General AMA, 5-10 October, Melbourne, Australia. 

  • Presentation on HIV/AIDS” at the COMSATS institute of Information Technology, Abbottabad, 28th March 2002 for the staff and students.

  • Presentation on HIV/AIDS” at the Hazara University, Mansehra, 30th March 2002 for the staff and students

RESEARCH PUBLICATIONS

  •  “Pedigree Analysis of Thalassaemia Trait in Hazara division” a project jointly executed by AMA, PMRC, Ayub Medical College and the World Bank. A 7-8% carrier rate was identified for Thalassaemia Trait in the Hazara division, necessitating further action [unpublished study]
