REPORT OF AMA BLOOD CAMP ON 27TH OCTOBER 1998 AT GOVERNMENT GIRLS COLLEGE NO. II, SUPPLY, ABBOTTABAD

 Abbottonians Medical Association®  [AMA] organized a Blood Camp on Tuesday the 27thOctober 1998 at the Govt. Girls Degree College No. II, Abbottabad.  Purpose of this Blood Camp was to collect blood for the Thalassaemic patients registered with AMA. The camp started at 9.30am. 23 bags of blood were collected through this camp. The details of which is as under:

 Blood Grouping of over 90 students was also performed and their blood was taken for screening of Thalassaemia Trait. At the venue of the camp posters, banners and publicity material regarding Thalassaemia were displayed to create awareness regarding this deadly disease. "Certificates of Appreciation" will be awarded to the voluntary Blood Donors in a formal function later.

 Dr. Abdul Aziz Awan, Chairman AMA and Dr. Noaman Siddiqui, Secretary General AMA would like to thank Prof. Saeeda Shaheen, Principal, Govt. Girls Degree College No. II Abbottabad for her support for holding this Blood Camp. This was AMA's Third Blood Camp in this esteemed institution. AMA is also grateful to all the staff members of the college for making excellent arrangements for the camp. Our special thanks to all the Blood Donors for donating their precious blood to AMA for the Thalassaemic patients.

 The executive members of AMA would like to thank all the following team of AMA for their participation this Blood Camp:

 Dr. Ejaz Afzal, Mr. Syed Akbar Zulquernain, Mr. Waseem Afzal, Miss Afreen, Miss. Afia, Miss. Fadia, Miss. Hina , Mr. M. Zaman and Mr. Khan Afsar.

 AMA is grateful to Mr. Shahid Shafi of Nawab Tyre Corporation [Dunlop Tyres], Karachi for sponsoring the Blood Camp. AMA is also grateful to Paktel, Cable & Wireless Company and would like to thank Mr. Munir ul Hasan & Mr. Bilal Paul for their cooperation.

 Lastly, AMA is indebted to Mr. Abid Ali, Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad for his all out support to AMA. The honorable D.C. visited the AMA Blood Center along with Mr. Waseem Afzal Khan S.S.P Abbottabad in September, and was kind enough to donate two Infusion Pumps for AMA Blood Center / Thalassaemia Center.
