GOVERNMENT GIRLS COLLEGE, NO II, ABBOTTABAD

REPORT OF AMA BLOOD CAMP ON 25TH MAY 1998 AT GOVERNMENT GIRLS COLLEGE, SUPPLY, ABBOTTABADAbbottonians Medical Association® [AMA] organized a Blood Camp on Monday the 25th May 1998 at the Govt. Girls Degree College No. II Supply, Abbottabad. Purpose of this Blood Camp was to collect blood for the Thalassaemic patients registered with AMA. The camp started at 9.30am. 28 bags of blood were collected through this camp. The details of which is as under:
Blood Grouping of over 90 students was also performed. At the venue of the camp posters, banners and publicity material regarding Thalassaemia were displayed to create awareness regarding this deadly disease. Moreover, a video film of AMA Centre for Blood Diseases of Children was also shown to the students. "Certificates of Appreciation" will be awarded to the voluntary Blood Donors in a formal function scheduled in first week of June. Dr. Abdul Aziz Awan, Chairman AMA and Dr. Noaman Siddiqui, Secretary General AMA would like to thank Prof. Saeeda Shaheen, Principal, Govt. Girls Degree College No. II Abbottabad for her all out support for holding this Blood Camp. AMA is also grateful to all the staff members of the college for making excellent arrangements for the camp. Our special thanks to all the Blood Donors who donated their precious blood to AMA. The executive members are also grateful to all the following team of AMA who participated in this Blood Camp: Dr. Naeema Afzal, Dr. Fatima Shireen, Dr. Ejaz Afzal, Dr. Ahmed Badar, Miss. Zaman, Mr Shams and Mr. Khan Afsar. Lastly, AMA is grateful to Mr. Shahid Shafi of Nawab Tyre Corporation [Dunlop Tyres], Karachi for sponsoring the Blood Camp.
