 REPORT OF AMA BLOOD CAMP ON 28TH MARCH 2002 AT

COMSATS INSTITUTE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, ABBOTTABAD

Abbottonians Medical Association® organized a Blood Camp on Thursday the 28th March 2002 at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Abbottabad to collect Blood for Thalassaemic patients, registered with AMA®. The Camp started at 11.45 am and continued till 3.45 pm. 35 Blood bags were collected through this Camp, the detail of which is as under:

The female blood donors were bled inside the air-conditioned AMA® Mobile Health Services Unit, donated by Govt. of Japan, which has facility of three blood donations at a time.  

 The Blood Camp was preceded by a presentation on HIV/AIDS by Dr. Noaman Siddiqui, Secretary General AMA® for the staff and students of this esteemed institution. He highlighted various aspects of this devastating disease including its modes of transmission, clinical features preventive measures and latest statistics. At the end of the presentation, Mr. Haroon ur Rasheed, Director COMSATS Institute presented a souvenir to the Guest Speaker.

 Dr. Abdul Aziz Awan, Chairman AMA® & Dr. Noaman Siddiqui, Secretary General AMA® would like to thank Mr. Haroon ur Rasheed, Director COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Abbottabad for his all out support in holding this Blood Camp, along with the staff and students of the institution. Our special thanks to all the Blood Donors for donating their precious blood to AMA® for the Thalassaemic patients. Certificates of Appreciation will be awarded to all the blood donors at a ceremony later. AMA® is indebted to Miss Farhat Usman, for her kind assistance in holding this Blood Camp & organizing the AIDS Seminar.
