REPORT OF AMA BLOOD CAMP ON 8TH MAY 2000,

AYUB MEDICAL COLLEGE ABBOTTABAD

 Abbottonians Medical Association®  [AMA] organized a Blood Camp 8th May 2000 at the Girls Common Room of Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad. The purpose of this Blood Camp was to collect blood for the Thalassaemic patients registered with AMA. This blood camp was held at the International Thalassaemia Day. 10 blood bags were collected through this camp. The details of which is as under

 At the venue of the camp, posters, banners and publicity material regarding Thalassaemia were displayed to create awareness regarding this deadly disease. Moreover, video films from Thalassaemia International Federation [TIF] were also on the display as part of AMA's Thalassaemia Campaign. A presentation regarding various projects of AMA was also shown.

Two Thalassaemic patients, Master Islamuddin from Batagram, and Master Hamid Javaid from Mirpur were provided blood transfusion during the camp. The venue was well decorated by toys and publicity banners from the sponsors.   

 At the end of the camp, prize distribution was held. Prof. Tariq Mufti, Dr. Rubina Swati, awarded gifts, along with "Certificate of Appreciation" to the voluntary blood donors. A lucky draw, sponsored by Paktel and Electronic Corner Islamabad was also held. Miss. Sumaira Kazmi and Mr. Syed Tauseef Ali Shah were the winners of this Draw. "Certificates of Appreciation" were also awarded to the participants of AMA's Medical & Blood Camp held at Army Burn Hall College for Girls September last year. "AMA Precious Member Award" was presented to Miss Sadaf Nasim Khattak for her services towards AMA. A souvenir of AMA was also presented to Paktel.

 Dr. Abdul Aziz Awan, Chairman, AMA and Dr. Noaman Siddiqui, Secretary General AMA would like to thank all the Blood Donors who donated their precious blood to AMA. Abbottonians Medical Association® is also grateful to all the following participants of the Blood Camp:
